An agency's files
Selling a marketing agency: what its document archive is worth to AI
Updated
An agency's archive is mostly decks, proposals, reports and briefs, which is the kind of document training buyers name. The catch is that much of it was made for clients or by freelancers.
Ask about my company archive Most platforms we read leave the files with you, but the ownership of each document and the company's own status decide what can be sold. Tell us what you hold and we will write back.
What buyers ask agencies for
License Your Data asks for the shared drive itself: decks, docs, spreadsheets, PDFs, proposals, reports and SOPs. Grepped names contracts, reports and slides.

Work done by staff, by freelancers and for clients
Proposals, playbooks and reports the agency's employees wrote in their jobs are the agency's copyright in the UK unless agreed otherwise. Work from freelancers needs a signed written assignment before it is the agency's, and deliverables a client contract assigned to the client are the client's to license, not the agency's.

Selling the agency or closing it
When an agency is sold, its archive goes with whatever the sale agreement transfers. When it closes, its directors or liquidator can sell the archive before the company is dissolved; after dissolution a UK company's property belongs to the Crown. Describe what you hold in the enquiry form.
